The Professional Training on the Basics of the Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) was delivered over five structured days, equipping participants with a comprehensive understanding of the World Bank’s ESF and its operational requirements. The program walked participants through all key Environmental and Social Standards, integrated case studies, and facilitated hands-on exercises on risk screening, ESIA processes, ESMP preparation, and ESCP development. Sessions on gender, SEA/SH, cultural heritage, stakeholder engagement, and biodiversity strengthened participants’ ability to align project design with global best practices and national regulations. A field visit to a World Bank–funded project anchored the learning in real-world application. By the end of the training, participants had strengthened their technical capacity to identify, assess, and manage environmental and social risks across the project cycle, positioning them to drive stronger compliance and performance outcomes in their respective institutions.
