We are pleased to share the successful completion of the eight-day intensive training program on “From Screening to Impact Assessment: Practical ESIA Development in line with ESF and National Requirements”, organized at BUET.
The program was designed with a strong practical orientation. In total, 15 structured lecture modules were delivered by academic experts and industry professionals, covering key dimensions of environmental and social risk management aligned with ESF and national regulatory frameworks. Participants actively engaged in group-based assignments, developed ESIA-focused case work, and delivered presentations demonstrating applied understanding. Daily quiz sessions were conducted to reinforce learning outcomes and ensure continuous assessment throughout the program.
The program concluded with a formal Closing Ceremony held at the Council Building, BUET. The session was graced by Professor Dr. A. B. M. Badruzzaman, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, BUET, as the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Jalil, Dean, Faculty of Civil Engineering, BUET, attended as the Special Guest, while Professor Dr. Sheikh Mokhlesur Rahman, Director, CERM, BUET, chaired the session.
A key highlight of the closing ceremony was participant reflections, where attendees shared their experiences, learning outcomes, and perspectives on applying ESIA practices in real-world project environments.
This initiative reflects a continued commitment to strengthening professional capacity in environmental and social risk management and advancing compliance with international and national standards.
