Successful Completion of the OHS Training Program

From December 06-08, 2025, successfully hosted a three-day Professional Training on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) at BUET.

The sessions provided participants with in-depth knowledge on hazard identification, risk assessment, OHS regulatory frameworks, PPE selection, contractor safety, and safe operation of construction machinery.

The program began with a welcome from Dr. Sheikh Mokhlesur Rahman, Director of CERM, followed by a series of expert sessions led by distinguished resource persons including Dr. Md. Mafizur Rahman, Ms. Farhana Kabir, Ms. Snigdha Afsana, Mr. Mohammad Nurul Alam Siddique, Mr. Faisal Ahmed, Engr. Syed Azizul Haq and Dr. Md. Shamsul Hoque, who shared valuable insights on safety culture, regulations, and equipment handling.

Participants actively engaged in hands-on group exercises, identifying construction hazards, developing OHS plans and specifications, and exploring practical mitigation measures to improve workplace safety. Interactive discussions strengthened understanding of policy, planning, and safety management, preparing participants to apply these practices on real construction projects.

The training concluded with feedback and course evaluation, followed by closing remarks. Participants left equipped with actionable tools, stronger safety awareness, and renewed commitment to safer construction practices.

Certificates were awarded to participants, recognizing their dedication to professional development and safety excellence. 

This three-day training program marked a meaningful step toward promoting a strong safety culture and advancing sustainable construction practices in Bangladesh.
