Dr. Marufa Akter is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Global Studies and Governance at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Political Science and has over 10 years of experience in teaching at the university level.
Dr. Akter also brings more than a decade of experience in research and consulting, with a strong focus on gender and governance. Her specialization lies in women and politics, with particular emphasis on advancing inclusive governance, gender-responsive policy development, and women’s participation in decision-making processes.
