CERM, BUET successfully conducted a three-day intensive training program on “Deep Dive into Different ESF Instruments: Design, Operationalization, and Implementation of GRM, SEP, and LMP” from 13–15 June 2026, with support from the World Bank.
The training brought together Environmental and Social (E&S) professionals, consultants, and PIU-based specialists to strengthen their understanding and practical application of key Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) instruments. Participants explored the foundations of ESS10 and ESS2, stakeholder engagement planning, information disclosure strategies, labor management procedures, contractor oversight, grievance redress mechanisms, worker grievance systems, and the management of GBV/SEA/SH-related complaints.
A key highlight of the program was its strong emphasis on practical learning. Participants actively engaged in scenario-based group exercises and simulations focused on stakeholder engagement planning, labor management and occupational health and safety, grievance handling, and SEA/SH referral mechanisms. These hands-on sessions enabled participants to apply ESF principles to realistic project situations and develop practical solutions to complex environmental and social challenges.
The training was facilitated by distinguished experts from BUET, development practitioners, and experienced environmental and social safeguard professionals, providing participants with valuable insights drawn from real-world project implementation.
CERM, BUET extends its sincere appreciation to all resource persons and participants for their active engagement and contributions, which made the program a success. Certificates were awarded to participants upon successful completion of the training.
